Great stuff man, it’s amazing how much of an impact that this can have on your campaign and costs. Good point about the mentioning that it’s the conversions that matter most – I’ve had many ads with ridiculously high CTR that didn’t convert at all.

Good point Matt, I guess the theory is that when you’re up top you need to attract less attention to the ad than if you’re on the right column

re: #11 – In my experience, situations where #1 will perform best are search terms where you are appearing above the organic search results rather than to the right. This being because organic results don’t display caps and a surprising number of people still don’t understand how the listings work. As mentioned this is something you’ll want to test for how your niche’s demographic searches because you all know how being in the top 3 can implode your profits unless you are sporting the “A” game w/ conversions, have minimal organic competition on buy words (e.g. clogged up w/ gov, edu, or wiki sites) or are killing it w/ CTR.
