Overall this is a very good resource, thanks a lot for putting it together. I’ll be sure to try all (well, let’s say “most”) of the techniques described.

These tips are a bit blackhat but they’re also very clever. Most people who promote their website on forums are way too spammy and if the posts don’t get deleted, it makes them look bad. Of course only the people reading it will see their spam and it will help them in the SERPs, but still… don’t spam. Contribute something to the forum you’re posting on.

Thanks with your tips. Your advice on put the signature after 10-20 post is good to build the genuine of your post. However, I think this will be little bit longer time to build it.

Hi Everyone,
I have a carpet cleaning business in Houston,TX that was doing pretty good until the economy went bad, and with it my clientele. I have a website for the business but I dont
know what I have to do the get it to show up in a search. Right now it’s somewhere in the yahoo/google netherworld (LOL).

Is there someone on here that can give me some insight or know of anyone that coud give me insight on how I can get my local website on the front
page of a Yahoo or Google search to increase my business without it costing me 5 or 10k $$$? If so please share with me.

Get links from the forums are really easy as you said and moreover we must be careful that we just doesn’t Spam the board. But the techniques you have given to create the backlinks are really awesome which could be done effectively.

Nice article , i still use forums to promote my affiliate sites, sometimes it sent really good traffic and other time no, its time consuming process but still worth it

Nice! Forums are supposed to be a means of finding answers and getting information, even if your motive for posting is inbound link building to your site. You can’t expect people to leave useless spammy comments on their blogs or forums. Offer some useful content that will contribute to the thread or stop wasting your time.
Content is (still) king.

Thanks for that brilliant update on link building. Never thought forums could work out this way. But, in spite of all this, don’t you think that blogs are a far better option as far as link building is concerned since, blogs portray a lot more authority than forums do.

I know that a lot of folks use forums solely to build backlinks via anchor text but I have to wonder why.

Since forums are social outlets, you would think that the smarter thing would be to actually contribute to the conversation and leave a signature as a means for that audience to find you in the black hole we call the internet, right? After all, I would personally think that if your material on your website is good, you may actually have someone come by, take a look and you may convert them.

Thinking of forums as a flytrap for links is just the wrong way to go about things. Besides, there simply isn’t enough link juice or authority with forum links to warrant an all out assault.

Just my opinion though.

Thanks for this guide. I have heard all the taboo associated with forum links but it seems that everyone still uses them for traffic and seo purposes.
