advice on hosting a big project

hello everyone, I’ve been reading posts for the past few days, gathering information etc. I can’t say all my questions are answered though, and so I’d appreciate a few suggestions.

I now understand what’s up with hosting companies who offer unlimited disk space or other "too good to be true" deals, and while I’m in search of a trustworthy web host, I also have to make sure they can satisfy my needs.

I am preparing a big project made out of approximately 300 domains, containing content management websites/portals, which may be even more in the future. I will require at least 7,5GB - 8GB disc space just for installing all the cms required.. without additional media in them. Not to mention that I will require FTP usage as well for several purposes.

So far the best hosting companies I checked out offer a maximum of 10GB disc space. Which is probably not enough, as I might end up requiring more storage.

Could you suggest to me some web hosting companies that you know from personal experience that they are trustworthy and reliable that may be able to meet my requirements? Or do you think I should just find one I judge to be good and ask them for a larger ammount of disc space at a higher cost?

Having come this far to seek for advice, I would also like to know if there are certan things that come to your mind that I may need to pay attention to while choosing my web hosting provider? I have dealt with web hosting in the past, but its the first time I work on a big project, and as I described above it’s a really big project, so naturally rules change.

Any kind of advice will be highly appreciated
