Hi All: I set up an announce list a couple of days ago, importing my former newsletter recipient list from my old server. It only sent our confirmation messages to half of my former subscribers - either they didn’t get sent, or got deleted on servers along the way as spam. Today, I tried to delete one of my users emails so that I could re-add them to have another confirmation message sent to him as he didn’t get the original. It won’t allow the deletion of him, as he is still on the “pending” list. Problem is, if he is still there, and I can’t delete him, he will forever be, as he didn’t get the confirmation message. A true catch 22 situation! Furthermore, the problem is a large number of subscribers, like him never got their confirmation message, and unless they do, there is no way to confirm them. As the Newsletter has always been a very important part of my site, and many of the people who did not receive their confirmation messages have been recipients for over 10 years from my former server, this may very well be the breaking point of whether I stay with Dreamhost. It would have been fine had I been able to simply remove the addresses and then re-add them to have a new confirmation message sent to them, but this appears to be a “Catch-22″ situation with no cure! Anyone have any suggestions or work-arounds? Ideally, an address should be able to be deleted from the “pending” cue so that it could be re-subscribed to force the server to send another copy of the confirmation message to the client. Dave
