Hi,

I am in the market for new hosting and have a basic question. When looking around for hosting, getting quotes etc it is essential to know your requirements. I would like to know about how different server resources effect a hosted web site? What does the RAM do, what does the cpu do, what about the hard drive? And then, how can I determine if I should look for more cpu power, or more ram or a faster hdd? I am generally not sure what I should look for.

I currently have a reseller account and one vps. The vps seems to be great, the reseller account has issues all the time so I need to find something new. Now,
- should I get another vps?
- should i look for a dedicated and put everything on there
- one larger vps and move all sites there?

I need fully managed service with plesk/cpanel and good support. Budget would be in the $80 to $120 range.

I am a web designer, so hosting is not something I am very experienced with. I just need something that is secure, doesnt give me many problems, is somewhat affordable.
