Since I have emailed Hostgator once and @replied them on Twitter a couple of times, I haven’t had much of a response so I thought I’d post something that will help upcoming bloggers here.

Many web hosts focus on website hosting, not blog hosting or podcast hosting. Of course, you can install a blog CMS such as WordPress but web hosts don’t help out new bloggers. I submitted to Hostgator via email about starting a bloggers package, which helps startup bloggers pick the perfect package to support them on their way to blogging.

The package would contain

• A preinstalled version of WordPress (users would be able to choose their own username and password on signup of the hosting plan)
• 10-20GB of storage so they can upload images, videos and music (additional storage would come at an additional fee or upgrade of their plan to Baby or Hatchling)
• An E-Book compiling everything you need to get started with blogging
• A recommend list of plugins and themes to choose from on signup that will enable them to get their blog high up in the search rankings with SEO

All for a monthly free for around $3 to $4. A great plan for startup bloggers.
