I’ve been working with Dediserv.eu for a while now. About a year and a half ago I was looking for a good hosting provider for my FTP Servers [was at Colo4Jax but needed something cheaper..]. Basically file hosting was what I was getting at so hardware wasn’t important [only disk space really..] and a decent network for transfers was what I needed.

Hardware quality however was important so that we don’t have any data loss due to hard disk failures, etc.

Well, I settled on Dediserv.eu [then exportal.pl] and honestly I was rather skeptical. In 2008, they offered me the following configuration:

Intel P4 3.2GHz
2GB RAM
2×250GB HDD
100mbit unmetered
Monthly 159 Euro

That was a damn good price for the time so I did the usual thing. Sent in an email and said "Hey man, are you sure that’s 100Mbps DEDICATED unmetered ?". Dino replied and said "Yes."

[Like I said, I didn't care about hardware, just the storage space and the bandwidth..]

Well, Dediserv.eu has NOT disappointed me so far. Today, I have 4 servers with them, each a 100MBps box.

Most of my servers have been constantly pushing atleast 80-90MBps for the past year and have never had ANY DOWNTIME. Basically, the hardware quality is pretty good [especially considering that some of this is OLD hardware!]

I now have the following servers from them:
Core i7 920, 12GB RAM, 100Mbps DEDICATED UNMETERED
Intel P4 3GHz, 2GB RAM, 100Mbps DEDICATED UNMETERED
Intel P4 3.2Ghz, 2GB RAM, 100Mbps DEDICATED UNMETERED
Intel E2160 1.8Ghz, 2GB RAM, 100Mbps DEDICATED UNMETERED

So to break it down:

Setup Time
After placing the server order through Paypal it usually took them only 12-24 hours to FULLY SETUP my servers. Of-course, I did only order servers that were in stock so that makes it easier for them.

Support
Support has been nothing but excellent all this while. Marcin usually replies to my support enquiries within 10 minutes and has been able to fix most of my issues. Fortunately due to the great hardware quality [and their solid datacenters], I’ve never really had too much trouble with support.

Price
Everyone worries about this but these guys have consistently offered me the cheapest deals on hardware and bandwidth. Plus, their network is actually good. Their hardware and bandwidth deals have been the best that I’ve been able to find. Also, Dino has been extremely nice. Everytime I whine about the prices [saying Hey I saw this deal on WHT... and you know prices need to change a bit..] he manages to knock off a few Euros for me. That is something I really value.

Bandwidth
They give you what they quote "100MBPS DEDICATED UNMETERED" and I have been pushing at-least 25TB/month on each of my servers WITH NO PROBLEMS! The only downside is that links to the US are slower and for some reason you can transfer out about 500kb/s per download thread across the atlantic. Of-course, if you multi-thread downloads you can hit any speed upto your 100Mbps cap. However, its great for European and Asian users because they tend to max out their connections on downloads. Pretty cool!

Hardware
Their hardware is excellent as far as quality is concerned however the only downside is that they don’t allow hardware upgrades as their DC doesn’t support this. What this means is, you get what you get. There are no options to upgrade your hardware in the future if need be. However, if you want to move to a better server you can order that and they’ll keep your old server online [for free..] for a few days so that you can move your stuff over. I do appreciate that!

Issues
I’ve only had one issue with these guys and that was a recent server purchase where they made a small mistake in misconfiguring my bandwidth quota. Nonetheless, the moment I noticed it I emailed them and everything was fixed within 4-5 hours.

Control Panel
For a cheap hosting solution these guys are pretty good because they DO offer web-based reboot on all their servers. Furthermore, they offer you the ability to add rDNS etc. from the online control panel as well as control the IPs you have assigned. Nifty!

As far as I’m concerned if you’re looking for quality hardware, and a good bandwidth deal DEDISERV.EU is definitely a choice you should seriously consider.

You might be sceptical and that’s good considering that these guys have some seriously competitive rates but I’ve had an excellent experience with this provider. I have only good things to say about them.
