I’ll briefly explain my set-up and reasons for considering a change.

I own a small web design company in the UK, I host around 50 clients mostly have basic sites with low / medium traffic.

I have the following hosting accounts

Reseller account with HostGator
(Been with them since 2004, hardly any problems, good support and been a good option for basic sites)

Reseller account with a small independent UK company
(UK based server, only use this for my own sites, testing and a back-up in case anything goes wrong one of my HostGator accounts)

VPS with iFuse Hosting
(Got two domains set-up here, 1. for one of my clients who’s email is critical to their job and exceeds HostGators hourly email limit 2. I host an email marketing tool here where of few of my clients log-in and broadcast html emails to their subscribers)

Right, my first issue is that iFuse has rapidly gone downhill over the past couple of months (both reliability and support) to the point where I no longer wish to deal with their support team. So I’ve been looking into other VPS’s but in doing this it’s made me re-think my hosting set-up altogether.

My second issue is that I’m considering selling hosting to general consumers, although I’m not 100% sure yet. Reason I’m not sure is that I understand this won’t be as profitable as
selling hosting to my own clients, the 50 or so clients I currently host pay between £200 and £300 a year for their basic hosting, but for this I do manage their accounts for them, setting up emails, back-ups etc

So based on that. here are my thoughts / questions / requirements.

Would it be better to just have one account somewhere that would suit all my needs?
If so, would a large VPS be a good option?
I would like the option of having a UK server and a US server in the same reseller account / company?
I would like to offer windows hosting as well as unix (as requested by a couple of new clients)
If I do choose to offer hosting to the general consumers, I would like to offer reseller accounts as well as standard shared accounts.
If I do choose to offer hosting to the general consumers, I would like end user support for my clients.
I have couple of possible new possible that I would like to offer cloud hosting / high availability to.
Budget isn’t set in stone, reliability and support are top of my list.

I would really appreciate anyone who has been in a similar situation to mine, and hear your feedback as to whether it’s good practice to use multiple companies or stick with one?

Here are the companies I’m currently looking at
