Help getting custom PHP install to work

The install said it was successful. ————————————— Installing PHP SAPI module: cgi Installing PHP CGI binary: /home/celiocorp/php5/bin/ Installing PHP CLI binary: /home/celiocorp/php5/bin/ Installing PHP CLI man page: /home/celiocorp/php5/man/man1/ Installing build environment: /home/celiocorp/php5/lib/php/build/ Installing header files: /home/celiocorp/php5/include/php/ Installing helper programs: /home/celiocorp/php5/bin/ program: phpize program: php-config Installing man pages: /home/celiocorp/php5/man/man1/ page: phpize.1 page: php-config.1 Installing PDO headers: /home/celiocorp/php5/include/php/ext/pdo/ ———- INSTALL COMPLETE! ———- Then I created a .htaccess file in news.celiocorp.com as instructed and created a phpinfo.php file as instructed. I also verified that php.cgi runs successfully an a shell prompt. When I go to http://news.celiocorp.com/phpinfo.php I get a 500 Internal Server Error. Can you please help me get this to work. DH support has really been unhelpful.
