I would like to take this opportunity to share my honest views on hostgator.

I joined them almost a year 1/2 ago looking for a cheap realiable host. All was fine, until my credit card expired. Then the problems really started when i had to contact support!

Despite updating my credit card details in their billing system (which is incidently has not been updated in over 9 years)

I found myself constantly being suspended for non payment. Now Im not sure about anyone else but isnt uptime the most important factor when considering joining a hosting company?

I spoke with their rude, unhelpful staff on many occassions. Most of the time the reply… Email support. Basically just a waste of time. When I did make payment to restore my account I told them everytime email me if any problems, make a note of these instructions in my account. Do not suspend my account without telling me…..

Yet again… Account suspended for non payment…..

After the 4th time of this and no reminder / warning emails Id had enough.

Despite arguing my rights with both support and the owner of the Company. Email: Brent@hostgator.com Whom didnt even have the politeness to reply!

I had to pay a full months hosting to create a backup of my files!!!!!! They would not give me my files back unless i paid 10$.

Then if that isnt enough. I couldnt backup all my files as the "baby" croc package would not allow me to do a full backup.

I was then asked to upgrade my account!! Remember. All i wanted to do is leave!!!!

Hostgator are unpolite, unprofessional and I would advise anyone looking for a hosting company to stay well clear of these cowboys.

All my sites are now with hostpapa.com . So far so good. Friendly support and even cheaper than hostgator!!!! Unlimited bandwidth and domains.
