I’ve spent much time looking through the site and haven’t made much progress in finding a VPS provider. I’m looking for any tips/suggestions you may have. There are so many out there with both great+horrible reviews, so many of which has had very little time spent with the actual provider. To me, it’s hard to get a decent picture of how far/close to average they are. "Cloud" providers are welcome too though I’m not willing to pay much more.

The Basics:
- Lower price (think Budget+) is good, $30-range
- Unmanaged is fine, root access to install required (gaming, VoIP, etc)
- Linux (CentOS) preferred, Windows acceptable
- Minimums (dedicated): Disk 20gb, transfer 100gb, bandwidth 10Mbps, memory 512mb (before burst)
- Free reboots mandatory, backups would be nice nice
- Telephone, email, and chat support 24×7x365
- Control panels preferred
- Atleast 2 IP addresses (3 preferred), can be extra but should meet the $30-range price point
- Occasional torrents (legal) should be allowed

Big Bonus points for:
- Canadian datacenter, bonus points for Toronto, Vancouver, Tier 1 connection
- Canadian company billing in CAD$
- Occasional personal use and restricted-access proxy (NO adult, NO regular use, NO funny stuff)… especially for US-based companies/datacenters

I’m willing to compromise here but that’s what I have in mind at the moment. PM’s are welcome for info suited away from the public eye due to special circumstance or special offers…
