Today I got a message in my inbox from HostQuack. Im not a client of this company, nor heard of them. I dont know from where they got my email.

You might have experienced some downtime on your site earlier today. Our
technicians at the DC tell us that during routine maintenance on one of
our servers, certain of our IPs were blocked in the firewall. The
technicians have been working on this and have corrected nearly all of the
issues. All the services are back up and working fine with all customer
sites. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will provide you of
any further updates should we notice any more issues.

On a somewhat related note, for our shared hosting customers on all
servers, we continue to ask you to remain vigilant and responsible for the
maintenance of your site. We have issued warnings to several customers
who consistently task their respective server causing unnecessary load.
If you need help in optimizing your script, etc., we are always here to
help. In a shared hosting environment, it is very important to remain
cognizant of your neighbors.

If you feel that perhaps you have outgrown the shared hosting world,
please do not hesitate to contact us regarding our VPS and Dedicated
solutions. Our number one goal is to keep the collective community happy,
so we appreciate everyone’s cooperation in this matter. We are in the
process of updating our site to show all the services being offered; but,
you can always e-mail admin@hostquack.com should you want more
information.

On an unrelated note, we completed the RAM upgrade on s4 (Server 2). If
you are on this server, you should have noticed that the 503 errors have
diminished. Of course, we were not anticipating the IPs falling off like
they did earlier today, but this issue has been resolved as well. We
expect the load to spike temporarily as everyone begins to access their
site again. Upgrading the RAM on s4 was just one more solution in our
steps to optimize your experience.

We will soon focus on transferring over the IGX billing accounts so you
will be able to soon log in to the HostQuack client area. We will keep
you updated on our progress.

Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience. This process has taken
longer than expected, and it has been hard to foresee some of the issues
that have cropped up, but we have responded quickly to resolve these
issues and respond to your concerns. These problems can be expected
during such a transition, and we will always adapt to whatever situation
arises.

Regards,

Jonathan

The best part isn’t the message itself. The best part is that the same message is sent to another 350+ people and their emails are visible in each mail.
