So….. I’m impressed with both the reviews I have read about HostGator, and the fact that support people actually take the time to read/post in your public forums (+10 for speaking English as well!).

I’m currently with a provider (which will remain nameless) that is not doing a good job. I’m looking for a divorce and a quick rebound relationship :p

Assume for a moment that I come to HostGator, and that there is a problem with the shared host server I am on. That problem is that 70% to 80% of the time, the server is throwing a 500 error on ALL my sites. You investigate the problem, and can’t find a reason why this is occurring. Knowing that my sites are not the cause of the problem, how long before you move my entire account to a working server? Would I even have to request it?

I know I’m being humorous, but seriously:

I am a developer, and know what I’m doing. Assume a server has a sporadic problem. On average how long before you fix it, or decide to move me to a working server to get my sites back up? How many calls will I need to make before it can be escalated? Can I actually TALK to a tech, or am I stuck talking to some paid lackey in the Philippines that can’t do a thing for me (or a rude billing person in PA)?
