I am considering switching from GoDaddy to Media Temple web hosting (Grid Hosting)… They are a little expensive, however I am under the assumption that the extra cost means less people use it and also that I will have more resources availible to my site.

I am sick of randomly checking my blogs hosted on Godaddy and finding they ALL take over 30 seconds to load when not hours ago they loaded almost instantly… Random down times.. Internal server errors from day 1 with their "1 click word press installs".. I’m just sick of it and I think its definitely hurting my traffic. I can barely be bothered to wait for my own blogs to load!

So Wordpress.org has media temple listed as one of their recommended host providers… no doubt MT pays for that position on the site, but their expensive cost is what is attracting me to them. Their cheapest plan is $20 a month. I’m currently paying $12 a month on godaddy with 4000 other sites hosted on my server contacting support only seems to fix things "for the time being"…

Should I expect a great performance boost by switching to media temple?

Does anyone else here use them?
How does their interface / control panel work? Is it similar to godaddy’s?
