Currently having to sit around waiting for the tech guys to put my main business server back online after a late payment.

At the beginning of the month, I had 40 reseller accounts and 2 dedicated servers from Hostgator, all of which I believed were on automated Paypal subscriptions except for a single paying for extra IP’s on one of the servers.

It turns out that for some reason the latest server had not been set up on recurring billing through Paypal.

Despite the tens of thousands of dollars I’ve paid to Hostgator over the years, I do not demand special treatment.

However, what I do expect is a little more leniency and understanding that a late payment can happen because of a misunderstanding, and therefore to enquire about this before suspending a dedicated server at the very least.

I was literally trying to decide whether to set up a new dedicated server with Hostgator, and now my experience is being very much soured because not only is the server still down, your support would not even put the server back online - as requested until payment could be sorted out.

It would be nice if it were appreciated that customers with dedicated servers might sometimes require a manual contact, instead of a an automated late billing email plus automated disconnection.

I updated billing and paid nearly 45 minutes ago, but my server is still unavailable.

Not surprisingly, I am not very happy at all, especially after having to spend the afternoon chasing up load problems on the other server.
