Hey all, i’m trying to follow the indication by Google (google pagespeed and http://code.google.com/speed/page-speed/docs/rtt.html#ParallelizeDownloads) and Yahoo (see y slow) to improve the speed of the website i run. I need to parallelize the downloads across the hostnames, so i need to set up a new CNAME record in my domain’s DNS. The thing is that with dreamhost i can create a subdomain only with the big button “Add new domain / sub-domain” or it won’t work. Even if i mirror a subdomain, i get this: “error id: “bad_httpd_conf”" Do you guys have any suggestion on how to do that? I really need to parallelize the downloads and if i just put the files in a regular subdomain i’m going to increase the dns lookup and this is not good at all.
