A little over 9 months ago, I was here on WHT in a panic. I run a not-for-profit rare cancer website and support group. I was being hosted by a company that went through a major DDOS attack (long story here). I moved from that hosting company to another and that hosting company was attacked. I was told by the owner of that company that I was followed by the attacker. You can read all about that by reading my previous posts on WHT.I talked about all of this on WHT and was eventually contacted by Matt at Staminus. He and I talked on the phone, several times, to discuss the situation. He, first, offered me solutions that I could not afford (I maintain the website on a very fixed income). When I told him that, he did not give up on helping me.
He called me back and told me that he had a solution! I will not divulge how all of this is being done, but Matt was able to allow me to go through another hosting company and still be protected by Staminus’s DDOS protection. In the beginning, we had a few glitches, understandably But, all the ruffles were ironed out.
Staminus did experience some persistently strong DDOS attacks, but nothing that they could not handle. There were a couple of times when the site had to be put on pause for a couple of hours, while Matt did some further tweaking.
I am very glad that I met Matt on the WHT forums. Otherwise, I would have been forced into shutting the site down; which would have been literally deadly for some of my forum members. :lovewht:
Staminus has given my Rare Cancer group this protection service free of charge. It is their contribution to our Cancer Community. I honestly believe that no other company was capable of stopping those virulent attacks. Many on WHT agreed. So their gift to us is a real blessing. I cannot thank them enough.
Would I recommend them to anyone? - You Betcha! :gthumb:
