So i want to get into hosting my own websites for fun, my first one i have decided will be "Vir0.com" and will be something like wikipeida but for viruses, i have already purchaced the domain name from namecheap.com and am currently trying to set it up with mediawiki (unless any of you know a better wiki cms?)

anyway, i am buying a HP Poweredge 2650 Server so i can host it myself because free hosts are giving me the s**ts by only allowing 1 mysql database and practcly no bandwith or disk space, so basicly i am just wondering if there is anything i need to know before i jump out into the world of web hosting? also what is a good linux based server os? i was thinking maby ubuntu server edition…
