I’m totally new to Subversion, so I’ve spent most of the day doing some research, reading up on it, looking at all sorts of commands, and trying programs, but I can’t seem to get it to work. First, I want to use it for a website. The website is live, so I wanted to copy it, put it on another domain as a test and use subversion to track the changes. Eventually, I’d have some sort of way to automatically push the changes to the live website. I’ve read the Dreamhost Wiki on Subversion; I have the “SVN Book.” I’ve been google searching, but I can’t seem to get it to work. So I have this website in a folder on my computer. Let’s say D:/Project1/. The testing site for this is http://www.domain.com/project1 (not the actual domain, obviously). I also made a subdomain for subversion: svn.domain.com (also not the actual svn domain, obviously). Then I made a folder for the project1 repository: svn.domain.com/project1 I used the Dreamhost panel to create a Repo in the project1 folder on the svn.domain.com. I get the email saying everything is set up. I can see that there is a /svn.domain.com/project1 folder (empty) and also a /svn/project1 folder filled with files. Now is where I’m stuck. I want to use dreamweaver cs5, but I can’t connect to the server through http, https, svn, or svh+ssh. No matter what, I get an error. I also have TortoiseSVN and I’ve tried to use the repo browser. Both in Dreamweaver and TortoiseSVN I get the error: “Repository moved permanently to “http://svn.domain.com/project1″. Please relocate.” and that’s as far as I get. I don’t understand this error and googling didn’t help much. Is there something I’m doing wrong? I just want an easy setup for dreamweaver to check in/out and commit files so that I can start reorganizing this website and push the changes to the live version. Can someone help me out? Thanks.
