I have been looking around for a simple tool that will allow me to create/delete virtual sites on my local CentOS machine for development. The machine I call it ziva, from my local network anything example.ziva is directed to that machine for processing.

What I need this for is so that I can create a ‘virgin’ http setup. Build a software configuration and test it, when finished just blow it all away. For example setting up a customer software combo so that I can replicate a problem without going into the WWW, just all local.

So, I want to ‘create’ the virtual host (eg example.ziva) it is then ready for me to create a database or seven, load applications crunch away. When finished I can just say ‘kill’ the vhost and it is all gone.

Is there a low overhead, preferably free, control panel that will easily do this? The machine is totally dedicated to this task I only ever use the console to update software.
