What should you look for in a Network?

This depends highly on the type of person you are & what you like to focus on. If you prefer driving traffic via SEO you probably won’t need the account management contact as much as someone who’s spending 10k / day on PPC.

There’s affiliates who rely heavily on PPC to drive traffic to CPA Offers & require a good account manager who can help them not only choose the right offers to increase performance but provide some inside knowledge on what’s working & what isn’t (i.e. landing pages etc).

Then there’s affiliates who aren’t so worried about the Account Management, they just want to get on with things themselves & only care about the payout of the offer. These affiliates tend to lean more towards SEO but will also usually be running PPC Campaigns (but not to the same extent as the example above).

There’s a number of things that you should be researching/doing & asking for before joining an affiliate network:

1. Read the TOS carefully first!
2. What’s the payment terms?
3. What are the payment methods?
4. Do you get an account manager?
5. Is the GUI easy to use & navigate through
6. Is there a healthy amount of offers & merchants to work with?
7. Is there a history of fraud or commission theft? (i.e. spyware & adware)
8. What are other affiliates saying about the network?
