Quick Links for Monday

28. May 2007 | 4 Comments

Been quite busy the past few days to update so I thought I’d post some links of what’s happening in the earnosphere, I’ll probably be doing more of these types of posts over the next few weeks:

Martin kindly let me know that Matt is Selling Net Business Blog. Will be interesting to see how much it goes for, even though I have no plans to sell up ;) BIN is $20,000, currently bidding at $5,600.

Linda over at 5 Star Affiliate is holding a Blog Buzz Contest that might enable you to win $400. If she needs a bit of help ranking for Affiliate Forum I can only help but oblige.

Ever wanted a script to generate every city & state combinations for PPC (works real well for PPC ;)) or Content Websites? PHP pimpdaddy Chatmasta over at Wickedfire has posted a Dynamic City & State PHP Generator.

Joe Whyte writes an interesting post on how to get free .edu backlinks

Darren writes about the Melbourne Blogger Meetup which I didn’t make down to this time, hopefully next time :)

Plenty of stuff to read to keep you all hungry, now get back to making money!

Thanks for the link Stuart.

I’m also going to be watching the sale of NBB very closely. I’ve thought it to be a great blog (and I’m still subscribed to it), though to be honest it’s gone a bit downhill lately. But I guess that’s because he’s been getting ready for the sale.

I don’t see why someone would pay $20,000 for it, though. We’ll see. :)

I could certainly see how it would sell for $20,000. I think that if he did the right pitch he could sell for even higher.

If it pulled in $1,250 in April and still has room to grow in the niche - $20k may be a steal. Most purchase a site of that size with a 12 month investment or more so you could figure anything within $20,000 to $30,000 is still reasonable.

That being said, I see that he sold for $13,000. That’s a shame, he could have held out for so much more. (this is coming from a guy who sold a site for triple that two months ago).

The same rules don’t apply to blogs though. Because with the sale, of course, he no longer posts. The author is a HUGE part of a blog and the buyer base is also limited because the buyer needs to know the niche.

Point well taken chatmasta.
