Hey guys, had some good submissions so far.

No-one has so far managed to make the URL of the submission the URL of the site:

i.e. submit www.google.com
url of page with the info = http://www.thesite.com.au/google.com

In terms of revenue share, any project would be 50/50. I've personally found that's the best way to make sure both parties are motivated.

What smash is getting at is that there is no uniform way to pull 5 posts from any specific site. Thats the entire reason RSS exists... because universal content syndication wasn't possible before.

That said... the 5 posts thing is the only part I haven't finished yet. I think i'll go play some xbox and come back to try.

Hey Stuart, I sent you an email.

Anyway, Smash meant that to be scrape the last 5 articles, we would need to know the XHTML structure of the website. Theoretically this is impossible if you're not using RSS, unless you have somebody manually putting in the information.

Actually, this is one big problem that RSS solved.

If you're testing with different URLs how are we going to parse posts if it's a different structure to EB? Otherwise checking for an rss feed and parsing that seems a good idea.
