These sites are the bread & butter of social bookmarking. The idea is to submit your site/posts & let the community vote. Remember, submit your best content.

Just do-follow links aren’t enough. In addition to do-follow, the links have to be direct.
That means: a link to bookmarking.com/?goto=yoursite.com won’t count as a backlink, but linking yousite.com will do it.
There is an directory for social bookmarking sites out there: http://social-bookmarking-sites.com . You can filter the sites by the use of do-follow / no-follow and direct / indirect links.

Why do the comments here date back to early 2007?
Anyway, I want to thank Earners Blog for mentioning MyWikiBiz.com (now in the top 90,000 on Alexa, and Google PageRank 4/10). I should add, I believe we are the only reputable wiki host that allows contributors to embed their own Google AdSense ads on their directory pages, and collect 100% of those revenues, for life. “Squatters” are even allowed to come and build unique pages about OTHER companies and organizations, slap in the Google ads, and collect on them until the legal agent of each of those entities comes to “claim” that space.
Think about it, folks.

Maybe you could add some of these links from this doc. http://squidoo.com/dofollow many of them are duplicates but your list is much more comprehensive. Just a thought.

@Will: I don’t know why you’re laughing at what I said. I just cashed my first $100 check from Google, and another contributor on MyWikiBiz cashes one every other month, and she tells me that MyWikiBiz is her #1 revenue generator.
So, laugh all you want, while we laugh all the way to the bank to deposit our checks.

Submitting to web directories is a vital part of every successful link building strategy. Apart from driving traffic to your website through direct referrals, web directories provide static, one-way links to your site, boosting your link popularity and improving your rankings on the major search engines like Google and Yahoo.
