Technorati Claiming Problems Update

A while ago I blogged about my frustrations of trying to claim my blog at technorati & after many emails to Technorati I still haven’t had a single reply. Professional.
Anyway I’ve done some digging into the subject as well as some experimentation & I’ve come to the following conclusion for all those people who get the annoying message:
There was a problem claiming your blog. Please try again in a few minutes. You can also go to Technorati Help for help claiming your blog.
It’s quite simple really. The IP Address that your Blog is hosted on has been banned for spamming. This blog is on shared hosting & it just so happens that the IP is banned because someone else has spammed the shit out of technorati. Awesome.
There’s no real way around it other than to move your blog to another IP address.
It’s bullshit but I guess I can live with it now that I know it’s none of my plugins or blog settings that’s stopping it from claiming….

That seems like a bad way of banning spammers. Why can’t they just ban urls?

They barely have time to answer support emails, you think they’d have time to ban URL’s one at a time….?
