There’s no real way to know if a review is genuine or not as most of these products do contain affiliate links.

I think it’s important to build up a reader base that values you opinion on products & services.

I think if it were possible to find genuine reviews of these products people would be better able to judge if an ebook is worth buying for someone at their level.
But the majority of these things do all their promotion via “reviews” and circle-jerk testimonials from other ebook gurus.

I prefer a (eg monthly)paid service that offers support with a low initial outlay that can offer specific advice that’s suited to my level.

Wrote a response to Jon’s crusade at Bloglyne, but didn’t provide a link cause I’m not sure of his motives yet.

At any rate, I would love to see the false claim books stop – although, how is a new consumer supposed to know that the stuff he is reading is re-hash of old stuff – to that person it is new.

There is value in compliation of good information and adding ideas.

Thanks for the link at the bottom of the post, just picked up a nice little article submitter for nothing, and still a whole pile of ebooks and scripts to go through. Agree on the ebook scams, most of these gurus can’t cut it in the real world and make all their money from selling ebooks to suckers.
